This year we used skit DVD

I would love to do a skit this next year with SFK, I just do not know where to start planning. This year was my first year as Director so I did it the easy way by just playing the DVD. The kids liked it but I think it would be more of an impact if we did the live skit. Do you all have a drama director to run the production? How often did the actors get togher to practice, and were you there to over see the skit durring practices?

nicole--we have been doing the skits for a few years now and the kids love them!!! I have a skit director & we use teenagers that earn service hours--we always have our vbs the 3rd week in june and the skit kids practice about 3 hrs a week starting after spring break then the week before vbs they have dress rehearsal a few times. I do not usually attend practice until the final rehersal but I do help out by getting all of the items on the list for my skit director-- the teens love to surprise me with all they have done-- I do however find the teens way early and give them a copy of their skit as early as february

I would love to have organised skits. I have a team of teens that asked to do the skits again this year. I gave them the scripts early this summer. They had props ready but I don't know if they read the scripts much earlier than the morning of. But the kids still loved it.

Start asking around, you never know what talent you have around, adults or teens.
