Prayer Magnets

This was something new for us in 2006.

We printed the SonTreasure Logo on Card Stock Lamentated them and put magnets on the back. Then about 6 weeks before camp, my assistant director spoke about "h/t use the magents" during church life/announcements...

They go on your fridge; every church family gets one. Every time a person goes to the fridge they say a prayer for camp. Further to that everyone was to select a family with children to pray for and on the designated date each of those families was to be invited to camp with application in hand.

We are going to do this again this year.
I also want to make some wanted posters to pin up in the bathroom stalls.

We did something similar and used it as a fund raiser. We had kids make foam crosses. Wrote on one of the peices VBS Aug 7-11 and Pray. Put a magnent on the back. Then we sold them for any amount donated. We raised over $250 in two Sundays! We told the church we were doing it in lieu of asking for donations of craft supplies or snack stuff.

Last year I had to go out on VBS first monday and buy stuff that had been promised to be donated. So that was my motivation.
