Best way to tape/stick paper to walls

We used painter's tape to stick the paper/murals to the walls, but found that when it was large, the tape didn't hold. We had to totally scrap our "silhouette" well because it was so large and heavy. (I loved that idea, too)

Anyone have recommendations?? What works best, without taking off the paint, of course?
