Hi--
The director handed me the clip art and publicity CD and the Director's Guide CD-Rom and asked if I could help with the publicity stuff.
I'm really confused. I'm looking for something that could be submitted as a newspaper ad. Is there something like that pre-made some where in the materials. I've found the news release sheet but can't find anything that seems like a little advertisement.
Sorry to be clueless. :o:confused:

I don't recall a specific newspaper ad layout, there are radio spots on one of the cd's. Most newspapers will take your text and then create an ad for you if you get them some of the clip art by email or hard copy. Just remember the who-what-when-where. The news staff should be able to give you suggestions. Last year they just had me bring by the cd rom so they could download it and select the artwork that fit my ad dimensions. This year I brought in the actual photocopy-able clip art because I was against deadline and our church secretary had the cd rom.

In the Forms folder on the Director's Guide CD-ROM, you can find both modifiable and non-modifiable copies of a News Release. Like Judy says, usually you can send the news release to your local newspapers, radio, television, etc. They will use the information to make announcements, place a small article, etc. You can also use the text in the News Release to help you create an advertisement, if you want. Nice thing about a news release is that if it is published, you don't have to pay for it! You ALWAYS pay for an advertisement. Of course if you pay, it ALWAYS gets published, too!
Another suggestion would be to use the SonRock Invitation postcard (also in the Forms folder on the CD-ROM) as your advertisement.
Hope this helps!
