Trees

I know I've seen before ideas on how to make trees using large cardboard tubes, but now that I need it, I can't find any of them! Please, could someone help me?

we've done this in the past and what we did was cut the long 12 foot roll in half. then we spray painted it brown - not a solid brown but made it look mottled like bark. then we cut leaves out of green posterboard and stuck them around the top so they fall down. those were palm tree leaves though which wouldn't work for the safari theme. another teacher just uses real tree branches and sticks them in the top of the roll.
