VBS Prayer Calendar

I am putting together a 30 to 60 day calendar in advance of our VBS with suggested prayer requests. I believe prayer is essential for the success of VBS and I have come up with lots of things to pray for! Does Gospel Light have anything like this as a suggested format? I'm also interested in hearing from others who have done prayer calendars for their own programs.

What a terrific idea! Our VBS always goes better when it is bathed in prayer. I'd be really interested in seeing your calendar when you have it. This is the prayer we are using in church each Sun for 6 wks preceding VBS:


Holy Lord, we ask Your blessing on our LaFayette-Jackson Community Vacation Bible School:

Bless the planners with the mind of Christ, that they may choose well and rightly as they lead the VBS.

Bless the teachers with the heart of Christ, that they may bring Your love to the students.

Bless the staff with the hands of Christ, that they may serve well the children and adults of the VBS.

Bless the parents and guardians of the community, that their hearts may be open to bring the children to VBS.

Bless the children of the community, that their hearts may be prepared to receive the Word with joy.

Bless those of the community who choose not to become involved with VBS, that they may hear the Word from the source of Your choosing.

We ask these things in the Name of the One we serve, Jesus Christ our Lord.
