Rally Call?
Last year we had a rally call (?). A fun way to rally students in the morning and at the finale and for the teachers to redirect their group. I called out "Who TRUSTS in God?" and the kids would respond "SONFORCE KIDS!!!" and do an S gesture in the air.

I'm trying to think of something for this year and can't think of any. Got any ideas?

I think this is a really great idea. Might use it.
Eg. On Mon I could say Who wants to Believe in God
Another day Who wants to Obey God; another day Who wants to receive Forgiveness from God; etc. Something like that. Then they could respond Son World Kids or something like that..... and make a gesture in the air....
Hmmnnnn.

I actually thought of one in the shower this morning. I shout "Choose Jesus!" and kids throw both arms in the air (as if to gesture going down the hill one a coaster) and shout "Wahoo!"

First day today. One day 4 more to go, it went Well!

I love the idea of a rally call! MY kids are going to a VBS at their (past/current) pre-schools church. It was hilarious when just reading the daily note for home about what they learned when my son when 'Ah-Ha!'

I thought I need something like that for OUR VBS!!!

During VBS and other events, we have our kids engage in "friendly" competition. We split them up into 2 groups and the 1st group leads with, "I (we) Love Jesus, yes I (we) do, I (we) love Jesus, how about you? (pointing to the 2nd group)" Then, the 2nd group retaliates, with the same cheer. The 2 groups go several rounds, trying to out-cheer each other. The loudest and most enthusiast group wins.

For our rally call I used someone's idea of having the kids wave their arms like they are on a roller coaster and scream like they are going down the BIGGEST hill ever! Each group did this when I said "Where's my PERKY PIRATES?" or "Where's my COLOSSAL COASTERS" ? I also shouted "Who ya gonna choose?" They shouted back "Jesus"!

The kids, all on their own, started saying "We choose Jesus, yes we do! We choose Jesus, how 'bout you?" Challenging each other to see which groups could yell it the loudest! It was really funny!

They all sound GREAT! We had our VBS week already and it was a success! I love the RALLY CALLS/CHEERS in the morning. It pysches them up. And, it stays with them throughout the year until next year's Rally Cheer. I also shouted, CHOOSE JESUS! and they lifted their arms in the air as if going down a roller coaster and shouting "WOHOO!" Even Father got into the the Rally!

Our youth program regularly uses one which many of our kids have learned at church camp. The leader yells, "Hey!", and the kids respond, "Ho! Christ is in my soul! Huh!" With the "Huh" being a big grunty pulling-in-the-fists move. (Boy, that's a lousy explanation... I hope it's understandable!) The kids know after that they are expected to be quiet and attentive to whomever called "Hey!"
