Thanks for posting these Christy!
SonRock Kids Camp looks like a bunch of fun! I love the amimated logo at the beginning of the website.
Is the Kingdom of the Son logo that you posted the logo that will be used for Kingdom of the Son VBS 2009? I like the one with all the animals above the Kindgom of the Son title better. Will that be an option for VBS 2009? I was just wondering. I'm sure other VBS Directors would have this question as well that have used Kingdom of the Son or have seen the logo from 2005.
God Bless,
Josh:rolleyes:

Thanks for the videos Christy,
I was hoping for SonCanyon as the 2nd VBS, I'm not ready to go on the Prayer Safari again yet. A past director thinks we should start to recycle what we have but these boards are such a resource.
SonRock looks great! When will we have a website to look at all the clip art and decorating? Of course w/ 3 1/2 weeks until SonWorld I shouldn't even think about it....yet.
I would love a logo to add to our end of VBS slideshow. I am trying to download the video, it's not working yet. Hmmm.

Having directed VBS for over 15 years, I wish they would come out with new ones each year. It hasn't been long since kingdom of the Son (which I loved) but just want new programs each year. :-)

Then SonRock Kids Camp should be right up your alley. Visit www.gospellightvbs.com/2009 and you can see a video of SonRock Kids Camp. Nothing informational but just a glimpse of what Gospel Light has for the theme of SonRock Kids Camp.
There also should be an All-In-One Kit that Christy was talking about earlier. Will this be available for VBS 2009?

Our church usually has a different director each yr. and they can choose which ever VBS that want so we don't always use the same publisher each yr.
We just finished this yrs and I was unoffically the assistant director which means I should be director in 09. I really enjoy directing and this would be my 3 time in the last 10 yrs.
I've already been looking and the Kingdom of the Son Prayer Safari really jumps out at me. From what I'm reading here this is sort of a remake of a previous yr? If so does anyone remember the Bible lessons that go with it?
Any idea when more info will be available?
Thanks!

Kingdom of the Son is all about the Lord's Prayer. I can't remember the specific stories but it took about a verse a night of the Lord's Prayer. We had a great time with it.

Kingdom of the Son was my favorite VBS so far. I loved the music and the decorations were so much fun. And of course, the Bible stories and messages were great. You won't go wrong with this one!

Since Kingdom of the Sun is from 2005 anyone have any material, supplies or decorating pictures they would like to share?
TrinityJen thank you so much for the picture of the sessions, I printed it out, it has helped being able to see the Bible Story that goes with it!
Have a blessed day!

Kingdom of the Son was my 1st year co-directing. It was so much fun, but for me it is too close to do again. I will wait and see more about SonRock and talk to my team before I decide.
Decorating was really easy, we didn't do any murals, mostly boxes painted to look like crates, lots of jungle vines made from painters trim paper, large cut out animals, the best were the shields the kids carried around.
I uploaded some pictures to photobucket have a look at how we decorated. http://s184.photobucket.com/albums/x151/TrinityJenVBS/VBS%202005%20Kingdom%20of%20the%20Son/

Kingdom of the Son will definitely be a great VBS! It caught my eye as well with The Lord's Prayer and the music is great! I was debating on doing Kingdom of the Son I while ago but went for SonForce Kids so I have some supplies for sell from Kingdom of the Son if anyone would like them.

thanks for the photos TrinityJen! I'm especially liking the camera name tags and the group shields!
Josh, let me know what you have, price and where you will be shipping from and as soon as I get confirmation that I can run with 09 VBS we'll talk!;)
Thanks!

We did several of the same decorations that you did, Trinity Jen. We had the shields as our pew markers, I noticed the kids with drums in your pictures. In our closing each day, we had the "talk-talk" drums that called us to prayer and closing. The best large decoration that we did was a generic mural with a water hole, and each night I changed the animals that came to drink by making them from butcher paper and just sticking them on the mural. The kids loved seeing the different animals. I also really liked the African theme, wouldn't China be an exciting country to highlight?

We loved Kingdom of the Son also! It was definitely a favorite, and are still singing the music.
You can make some great looking elephants, rhinos and hippos from large, gray tarps! Plus they fold and store easily.

Any instructions for the gray tarp elephants, rhinos and hippos? :D
Still have to wait until mid July before I know if we are continuing VBS as we have in the past and if I'm 09 director, but I'm really liking this one!

We just used an overhead projector with transparencies made from GL's reproducible resources. All we had to do was trace them with sharpies, go back and add a little color where desired (white tusks, white eyes, a little pink in the ears) and they were wonderful!

When will we get more info on SonRock? I am excited for the web-site to launch. I know the kits are listed in the store - it doesn't look like much has changed. Is there anything we should expect to be missing this year?

This looks great! The water feature on the website takes me to a different place! IT is tempting to let my mind go off to VBS 2009, but I have to get VBS 2008 done first!
