I'd like to find out if y'all have ideas for thank you gifts for your workers at the end of VBS. I feel it's really important make them feel special and appreciated, and wondered if anyone has any plans that could inspire all of us. :)

I did daily thanks for the workers.
"Thanks for being a lifesaver" with LifeSavers attached
"Thanks for going the extra mile for VBS" with Extra gum
"Kisses to you for all your help" with 2 Kisses attached
"There are no Snickers about it. I couldn't have done it without you" with a mini Snickers attached.

After VBS, each volunteer gets a hand written thank you with lots of general thank yous from the pulpit and in the bulletin.

I hope this give you some help!

I am not sure what I am going to do this year. Last year I created magnets from Vista Print.com (http://www.vistaprint.com/vp/ns/default.aspx?xnav=welcomeback) when they had 25 free. I also gave out Milky Way bars w/ the cool wrapper someone created. We had a pizza party at the end and everyone enjoyed the bit of chocolate. The the year before I gave out chocolate on Wednesday w/ a note (from the board) and Friday I gave out candles w/ a note about being a light to the world.

I am thinking about doing the chocolate bar thing again.....just not sure how. I have had a few people volunteer to assemble. Last year my mom-in-law bought the bars and wrapped them, but she will be out of town this year. I have a candy bar template I have made for VBS before....I might play with it...let's see 13 min before my 1st grader is home.

25 min later---- I'll keep working on it...

You have alot of different options this year because of all of the carnival food. You could use pop corn or cotton candy. Thanks for popping up to volunteer or thanks for being such a sweet volunteer. You could go all out with it if you wanted to.
God Bless,
Josh

I like the "popping up to volunteer" I bet I can make a wrapper for that....

Our previous VBS director set the precedent of preparing one of the cuter crafts of the week for each of the helpers. (I still have my cow-painted bell from SonHarvest....5 years ago?) I plan to wrap each day's daily teacher devotion around a LaffyTaffy for Mon-Fri to help the helpers keep their focus on the focus, and I will have made the magnets out of Sculpey clay (from the craft book) in brignt colors surrounding the Joshua 24:15 verse for each of the helpers to keep at the end of the week.

These are all great suggestions. I really appreciate this forum since I do not have people with like minds to lean on for suggestions. I value more suggestions.
I Thank the Lord. You are a blessing to me.

There is a template for a popcorn box front that you put a package of microwave popcorn on the back of on familyfun.com. I have used it for Teacher's Valentine's and they always love it.

Here is the link:

I think I will use it with a phrase that works for VBS. I'll have to think on it...
