I just came up with my Friday craft. I ordered the life sized posters and plan to make stand up cut outs with them. I (or my photography person) will take pictures of the kids each day at a different center/character Cut-out. After the Thursday session I will go to Walgreens and print out enough pictures for each kid to have 4 or 5 different pictures of themselves and their friends. It only costs $.15 a photo if you get 100 or more total prints and sometimes you can get a coupon for $.12 prints.

I just ordered some flip photo albums from OT IN-70/1583 for $4.99 a dozen. They are wedding photo albums, but it looks like the "Our Wedding Day" card will slide out and I can replace it with some normal card stock that the children can decorate themselves and even be able to use my custom Sonworld Adventure Park stamp.

This is one more craft that is easy to make, is pretty cheap (total cost per child $1.02) and won't find it's way into the garbage the day after VBS. The children can take them home and add other pictures to the album.

For children that come during the week and don't return on friday, I will put their pictures in an album with just the Sonworld stamp and our church address and then get them to them. If they don't already attend our church, it can be a reminder of who and where we are.

Another great Houseparent idea! WOW, and only $1 a kid! I am all for cool crafts to keep.

Check at the photo counter at Walgreen's they offer a discount for teachers but do not advertise. Check to see if you need to register before you need the pictures.

You will need to start with photo albums from OT: 70/1583 WEDDING PHOTO FLIP ALBUM (12PC) (http://www.orientaltrading.com/application?namespace=browse&origin=OrderStatus.jsp&event=link.itemDetails&mode=Browsing&sku=70/1583)

You will also need one of three PDF files:

http://www.houseparent.net/VBS/PhotoAlbumA.pdf Is the first one that I made that has daily choice logos in standard size.

http://www.houseparent.net/VBS/PhotoAlbumB.pdf is my second version that has the daily choice logos re-sized to match the size of the Daily Choice Decals

http://www.houseparent.net/VBS/PhotoAlbumC.pdf is my third version with out any daily choice logos. It can be decorated with any Sonworld decal or any other way

All the PDFs have a form field below the "Got This Album At" that will allow you to put your church information on the album. When you print the PDFs make sure that "Page Scaling" is set to none on the print screen (See picture below) or the page may print too large to fit inside the photo album pockets. I used both colored pencils and markers to decorate the album with success. I printed the PDFs on 110lb Card Stock. Cut out each piece on the black line either with a paper cutter or scissors.

We are also looking into the possibility of giving each of the students a disposable camera to capture their own SonWorld photos throughout the week to place in their albums! I don't think we would be able to afford the cost of printing all the photos, so maybe we could just provide the cameras and each family would be responsible for printing the photos - ??? Still thinking this one through. Suggestions welcome!

Housewife, your bag looks great! How many kids do you have to purchase things for? I'm looking for something like that, but we have close to 400 kids attend our VBS. Does anyone know where I could get some good quality bags for an inexpensive price?

It is "houseparent" (I work in a Children's Home caring for disadvantaged youth), though many of my younger kids call me "mam" because they are used to being around women, I am a "dude" I spent several hours searching on the internet one evening and the least expensive bags I could find anywhere, that weren't made out of paper, were the polyester bags from OT, thought they have gone up $2 a dozen since I bought mine.

I only have to make for about 50 kids, though I one day hope to have over 400 kids.
