Has anyone thought about using scene setter backgrounds in any of your centers. I am thinking about using a western scene setter in the General Store and a pirate scene setter in the Game Plank. I have a little extra money in my budget this year and when you figure the cost of painting a background I don't think it would be much more expensive.

The time savings would be incredible. What do you think?

I really like the Scene Setters, though haven't experienced using them before. Seems like I saw prices all over the map. I know Oriental Trading has some of them and also has a jointed cowboy, cowgirl and pony. I am meeting with our Director tomorrow and will ask about them.

Totally agree, Houseparent. We used scene setters for Sontreasure Island and it saved so much time and effort, it was well worth it.

I have used the scene setter before and it does save alot of time plus looks really good when put up. It is very quick and easy.

If anyone is in or close to Houston, TX there is a store called Arnie's Warehouse. They carry the scene setters and it is almost half the price of OT. I have family there, so once a year I go and do alot of my VBS decorating shopping. They do not take orders over the phone or ship so you have to be able to go there.

Thanks, I am definitely going to use them this year.

I recalculated and they may even be cheaper than some of the backdrops I made last year.

Hi Houseparent,
Another plus for the scene setters...I still have my tropical ones from SonTreasure because they roll up so nice and are easy to store.
This year we will be adding new ones too; not sure which ones yet.
It is quick and easy, time is money!

I have purchased the castle walls and princess wall setters from OT. We will be using them in an upcoming play in April for an Bablyonian palace and then resuse them for VBS. I'm applying them to foam board with spray adhesive. Thankfully, we get the foam board donated by a local manufacturing company. I agree, less expensive and labor intensive than painting. I painted the exact same backdrop on canvas as you last year for SonForce kids and we reuse it frequently in our Sunday School class for pantomimes. Look forward to see what you are doing for SonWorld.
