Opening Assembly Ideas

Just met with our VBS planning team. We are so excited about SonWorld. Each year we open our Asssembly with a short video clip that our youth department develops. We start the clip about 5 minutes before the assembly begins so kids and adults hurry to take their seats. This year we thought about either recording or having a live magician, balloon artist, juggler, unicycle rider do a quick performance to get our kids in their seats. It will also set the stage for our Amusement park theme. We also thought about video taping some of the stunts that are listed in the Assembly and Skit Guide and using those for the pre-opening of our Assembly.

What a cool idea! We have consistently had a problem grabbing the kids attention right after we have them march in (we march into the assembly hall in age groups to make sure seating is appropriate). A video with a countdown clock could be just what we need to pull them in. Thanks for the ideas!
