Hello everyone. I wanted to introduce myself. I live in Campbellton, New Brunswick, Canada with my husband, Marc and my cat, Buttons.

I became a member of First Place back in 2006 but have slacked off for a while and want to recommit myself to the program.

My initial goal was to lose about 90 pounds. I have already lost 50 pounds and have another 40 pounds or so to go, but have leveled off since stopping the program in 2007. I really haven't gained much of it back since I have been eating healthy foods, but I have just been eating more of it.

I am here to gather support from those who are in the First Place program to help me get going again.

Jennifer,

You've done quite well to have held your weight since you backed off from FP. These last 40 pounds might be a little tougher to lose. I've heard that the closer you are to your goal weight, the harder it is to lose the pounds. Just get out those measuring cups and your trusty kitchen scale and weigh & measure your portions again. If you will follow the Live-It very strictly and get into a regular exercise program, you'll get that scale headed back downward sooner than you think. The increased exercise will help you burn off more calories than your body will use normally.

I wish you well and hope you keep us posted.

Hi Pat. Thanks for the encouragement. I have never had a food scale, so I just kind of guessed on the portions and still lost weight. Don't know how, but I did stick with the plan rigorously and I walked every day. It is more difficult to walk in the winter where there is tons of snow everywhere, but I know once it starts melting again, I will be walking every day. I actually miss that.

I used to do my commitment forms on MS Excel but I have lost the form so I have to recreate it again and I have forgotten what it looks like. I guess I will need to order the Commitment Form book again.

I really don't have extra money right now as I am laid off of work, but I will scrounge something together to be able to get that book. I have the Food Exchange Pocket Guide and the FP Favorites Recipe Book. This should help a lot.
