What's happening with MyVBS.com? I didn't see anything about it for SonWorld Adventure Park. Will they still have it available or are they updating and "reviving"it later?
God Bless,

Right now it's on hiatus, but possibly will be "reborn" in the future. Thanks for asking!

It's no longer available... I called gospellight about it once I got the kit. They changed the whole format for myvbs last year and I never could get it to work. So I created my own vbs web site...

I used the one for SonTreasure and it worked fine. Last years was too complicated. I'm considering packing up my site as a template and letting people have a copy of it for free and they could just add it to their church site. Anything we can do to spread the gospel to more children.
It would take some time and effort to get it ready and right now that project is on backburner.

Sorry to hear that this feature is currently unavailable. While it was difficult last year, it has been a wonderful asset in providing families a way of registering. I think last year approx 80% of the children who attended used the online registration. It brought in community residents, not just our own church family.
I hope it is high on the list of features to restore.

I think it's great to have a website that the kids and parents can visit with all the VBS information on it. It is disappointing that there isn't MyVBS.com for SonWorld Adventure Park but it was a pain last year and I'm glad to see that modifications with be done. I think the biggest problem with it was the program that Gospel Light used to host it.
poulon3140,

Has anyone come up with an alternative solution for advertising their VBS online? Our church currently doesn't have a website but we are trying to move that direction and I think it would be great for publicity purposes.

Since Gospel Light did away with myvbs.com I said I would try to take the time to convert my VBS website into a template so other churches could use it. Well I finally did it. I am making it available for FREE. I am posting the download link here since this is where I made the original post but I will also start a new thread to share with everyone.
The website offers online registration for both children and volunteers. A photo gallery and a fun 4 kids page where they can print off coloring pages among other items. 90% of the web site can be customized to your church with just basic word processing skills. The other 10% requires someone with decent computer skills or preferablly someone with some web editing experience. I created the site using Microsoft FrontPage... if you are familiar with FrontPage editing the 10% of hyperlinks, email addresses and form properties are simple. Go to www.ccfhaz.com/pdfs/vbswebinstructions.pdf (http://www.ccfhaz.com/pdfs/vbswebinstructions.pdf)to download instructions on how to edit the site. If you have a "computer guy/gal" they can probably handle it.
If you would like to see the VBS site running live you can visit www.ccfhaz.com/vbs (http://www.ccfhaz.com/vbs)before your download the template.
You can download the template at www.ccfhaz.com/pdfs/vbs.zip (http://www.ccfhaz.com/pdfs/vbs.zip).
If you do use the web site please let me know. I would like to see how you end up using it.
