I would love to hear how you are doing, and if you have already lost alot with the FP program, or what keeps you motivated. Anything you have to offer.

I started with 105 lbs to lose. I have currently lost 18 lbs. God is so good. I give him all the praise. Since my teens I have been a professional dieter. This time is different, I am not dieting, I am changing my eating habits and God is at the controls. I trulely feel that with FP the main goal is drawing close to the Saviour. I want to feel his presence, hide his work in my heart, and the perk to this is I lose weight. I am so thankful that God is with me always. I don't know how much you have to lose, but never give up. This walk with our saviour is well worth it.

I lost 100 pounds and though I am not a member of FP, my method of losing the weight is the same, through the power of God working from the inside out. Our weight is not the problem but only the symptom. Diets don't get to the heart of the problem. That's why people end up regaining the weight. And I totally agree with the other lady here that it is totally about a changed lifestyle. A change in how you look at yourself, the reasons you overeat, the way you look at food and even your relationship with God. If you focus on growing closer to Him and seeking a deeper experience, one day you look in the mirror and notice you have lost weight. God is first and losing weight is second. You have to educate yourself about food, what is healthy and what isn't. Many of us will go through sugar withdrawal just like any addict giving up the thing that controls him/her. We will also have to down size our portions and our bodies will fight tooth and nail, much like a spoiled child. We have wasted years abusing ourselves, and we can't expect an overnight fix. God has too much work to do for it to take such a short time. We should want HIm to take all the time He needs so we can experience a complete recovery. What keeps me motivated? I want to live! I have diabetes and a heart condition. Before the weight loss I was in poor health. God has given me a new life and I praise HIm for it! I don't want to end up like my precious mother, taking 10, 15, 20 pills a day! It literally poisioned her. With God's amazing healing I have reduced my blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol all with diet and exercise. I love exercise! I can still remember what it was like not to be able to even cross my legs they were so fat. I can remember not being able to wear decent clothes, or go for a simple walk, ride a bike or look in the mirror and feel good about myself. All these things keep me motivated. But what motivates me most of all is God Himself and His Word and knowing what He has delivered me out of, I would be a total fool to return to my former life. Yes, I have my down days, and times when Satan tries to defeat me. But I recognize his tactics and immediatley resist and command him to flee. I have only one direction to go in and that's straight ahead and I have only one Captain at the helm of my ship and that's Jesus Christ. If you ever feel down and need a hand to lift you up, just email me. cheryll@christfirst.net
