Hey everyone,
I have been looking for software that manages recipes, menus, shopping lists, etc. I started off looking at Master Cook since that was the software mentioned in the Bible studies... and had it in my "virtual shopping cart" ready to purchase - but from what I can tell from the description of the software - it does not contain exchange information for each of the recipes... Does any one know of a software program that DOES have the exchange information already calculated? and is capable of creating weekly menus and generating shopping lists?
Thanks in advance for any help!!

I've not used the Master Cook program so I'm not speaking from personal experience. But, I am part of Outlook, an online First Place group, and many there have used the program. They say that it has the exchanges and if you put in your own recipes, it will calculate the exchanges for you. I've never used it myself, so I can't say for sure, but that's what I've heard.

Hi!
Mastercook does calculate exchanges for you. I use it a lot.

I installed my new MasterCook software today - it seems like a powerful tool :) can't wait to learn how to use it and start planning my weekly menus and printing out shopping lists! I was amazed that it also has a pantry inventory tool!! Awesome - thanks again :D

I purchased "Living Cookbook" a few years ago. I love it. I checked under "tools" and it does discuss a Weight Watchers formula that they use. It is not sanctioned by WW and has not been checked for overall accuracy. I have not used this function but may look into it a bit more. You can get a free trial of the software before purchasing it at www.livingcookbook.com.

Do you have to have internet access for it to work? I have internet at school, but not at home and I would like to put the MasterCook software on my laptop at home. Does it work without internet?

Has anyone found software for PDAs, specifically a Pocket PC, that will help you keep track of your food exchanges throughout the day, when you're not home? It would be easy enough to make up an Excel speadsheet to add up the actual exchanges in each category, but I'd love to see something with a database (list of foods) that knows the exchanges already.
Thanks
