Here is a balloon arch I made for a Harvest Festival several years ago. I am thinking I would like to do something like that as part of my Sonworld decorations.

For it to stay up for the length of VBS you would have to use that balloon additive to keep the helium from leaking out. A latex balloon will go flat in a day or two without it because the helium molecule is so small it leaks right through the balloon.

The other option is to use regular air and build it around something rigid like 1/2 inch or 3/8 inch PVC pipe. It would be still flexible enough to bend in the shape of an arch and rigid enough to hold the arch in place.

Houseparent - I love this idea!!!

Do you have more specific directions on how to construct something like this?
Thanks!!!

I love it Houseparent!!!!

I want to do something above the pews in our sanctuary. I will probably do something simpler, like a sting w/ several balloons across it. Here are 2 sites I looked at for instructions.

Hi everyone, good to "see" you all again. Last year a number of people talked about using a "wedding arch" covered in christmas lights for Sonforce. I'll be using that idea when we do Sonforce this year. I've never seen Wedding Arches in Australia but I'm using a garden arch - a metal arch you put in the garden to grow vines on. I thought that would be an easy way to do a balloon arch as well. It wouldn't be quite as magnificent as yours, Houseparent, but it would be a cheap, simple way to get the same idea. I can buy a garden arch for about $12 and I would just tie on normal balloons, I wouldn't need helium.

Another possibility I just thought of is to use "Link-a-loons". These are balloons which have a "tail" on each end so you can tie them together. It would be quite easy to do.
