Wagon Wheels

I saw in the decorating picture for the Wild West World a real wagon wheel. I have figured out how to make some wagon wheels. Using a hula hoop, wrap brown fake leather type fabric all the way around. Then take a ribbon spool or piece of pvc pipe about 2" thick, 3" diameter and glue a piece of fabric around the outside. Place the spool in the center of the hula hoop. Cut 6 strips of fabric a little more than the diameter of the hula hoop. These strips become the spokes of the wheel by looping through the small spool and extending out to the hula hoop. I hot glued the strips into place.

Note of caution - just received the wagon wheels from OT, they are only 12" - much smaller than I expected!!! (The size is clearly stated in the item description, which I obviously neglected to read! The picture makes them appear much larger. Still usable, just not what I pictured! - LOL!)
