QUOTE
The plan is simple and follows below.
The Plan
The sixteen-week Triple Dare is not a complicated plan and personal choices are the key to success. We are going to believe God, trust God and obey God for sixteen weeks. If we are to succeed there are six major things we must do.
1. Spend time with God
Set aside a time and place each day to spend time alone with God. If the Dailyness of life gets in the way, carve out another time slot before you go to bed. Time with God must be a priority if we are to succeed.
2. Eating Plan
The is extremely simple. Eat healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables. We didn’t get fat from eating too many fruits and vegetables so eat all you want, in moderation. Eat fruits and vegetables as close to their natural state as possible. Use low calorie salad dressings.
Eat complex carbohydrates such as whole grain bread, pasta, rice and potatoes. You may eat seven to eight servings of these each day. A serving is one slice of bread or ½ cup.
Consume only low fat meats and dairy products. Eat five to six ounces of lean meat or low-fat cheese each day. Consume two to three eight ounce servings or milk or yogurt. Season your food with spices, not butter or bacon. Use moderation in the amounts of these foods.
Do not eat high calorie desserts or chips. Do not eat fried foods. Do not eat creamy salads. If you do eat these foods during the Triple Dare, immediately get back on track before you derail.
Drink eight glasses of water each day. Do not drink high calorie drinks of any kind.
3. Exercise
Do not go longer than 48 hours without some kind of exercise. If you can barely walk, then barely walk. God will reward your efforts. Find an exercise you enjoy and do it. If you have a hundred or more pounds to lose, find a place to swim.
Exercise five days a week. Most of us work or go to school five days a week so a five-day exercise schedule can become a part of our five-day workweek. Do not debate whether you will exercise or not. Make an appointment to exercise every day and keep the appointment. Remember, showing up is 80% of life. Show up, start and you will finish.
4. Rest
Adjust your schedule to get seven to eight hours of sleep each night. Proper rest will allow you to keep the other priorities of having a quiet time, eating properly and exercising each day. Learn to rest and play during this sixteen week Triple Dare. Rest and play are miracle workers for our emotional health because they help us deal with the stressors of our daily life.
5. Journal
You can use any type of notebook for your journal. Jot down your own “Dailyness” and how long you spent doing whatever you hadn’t planned to do. Dailyness might also be something positive that is particularly rewarding like a great quiet time. Those quality times with God result in time saved instead of time spent. Record in your journal one area each day that you held yourself personally accountable. It might be a good choice in the food you eat or that you add a little to your daily exercise routine.
Journal Example:
Week 1 Weight:______ Date: ____________________

6. Weigh weekly
Weigh yourself on the same day and time each week. Better still, ask someone else to
weigh you. This adds more personal accountability. Record your weight each week. If
you stay the same or gain one week, work harder the next week. Get right back on track.
Support
Be a part of a First Place group! Here is a link for you to Search for a local group... (NATIONAL). If you do not have a local group to attend I would like to encourage you to come and join us online with Outlook Ministry, we provide online First Place support groups and is a great alternative if unable to attend a local group. I have been a First Place leader since 1993 and work very hard to make your experience as encouraging and supportive as participating in a local group. We are just starting our 12th session online, God is at work and has truly blessed.

After the Triple Dare Ends
If we need to lose more weight than we can lose in sixteen weeks, we start the Triple
Dare again and do it for another sixteen weeks until we reach our weight goal. By the time we reach our goal, we will have established habits that will help us keep the weight off forever. We will also have a closer walk with God than we ever dreamed possible.

A 16-Week Challenge to Help You Reach Your Weight-Loss Goals
Carole Lewis, national director of the First Place weight-loss program, has written a book based on her real-life situation of struggling to maintain her weight loss and the reality of regaining 40 pounds. This book is her response to God’s request of her that she “walk the talk” publicly and make herself accountable to lose the weight. The overall message of the book is that falling is never failure; failing to get back up is failure. The book records Carole’s journey in journal form—a daily diary of successes, failures and tips that will help anyone get back on track in the area of weight management. She chronicles how to get through the holidays and reveals her temptations as well as victories. Carole says that God knows where we have been, where we are and where we are going—and He plans for us to be overcomers. This is a very practical, honest, and encouraging book for all who are working on the physical side of wholeness.

Believe God: Psalm 27:13 I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Matthew 21:22 If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Trust God: Psalm 9:10 Those who know your name will trust in you,
for you, LORD , have never forsaken those who seek you. Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Obey God:John 14:21 Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him." 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

Hi Karen
I just bought the book this past weekend and would like very much to join the online group!!!
I started today: walked 3 miles, i ate for brkfast: special k cereal, lunch: 5 cucumber slices, tuna w/mayo & 7 crackers w/pear, dinner: half a chicken breast w/pasta, snack: caramel iced coffee.
I probably should not have had the coffee, but i was craving something sweet.
I have a tip for you all, during your walk, when you feel drained and out of energy to continue your walk with vigor, pray that the Lord will encourage, strengthen and fill you with His Holy Spirt. He will!!!
thanks for allowing me to join.
