Am I crazy? I can get on the link, but the pictures are not coming up-- from all your posts, it appears you all can see the pics fine---what am I doing wrong? It brings up the website, sonforce preparations at the top and the description at the bottom of the page, but no pictures!!! I hate to be out of the loop!

Lisa, I don't know why you can't view the photos. The only idea I have is to try the root www.gepc.org and work down from there. Click on "Photo Albums" in the left side bar, then choose "Children's Ministries" then "SonForce". You could also check your computer's security settings and allow images from unknown websites. Good luck!

I was looking at your great pictures. What did you use for your agent bags? The ones that had their names on them. Was that a secret bookcase entryway into one of your rooms? I wish I was going to your VBS!! How on earth did you do that? It was awesome!!

Yes, that is an actual wooden swinging bookcase. The decorating team built a fake wall that closed off most of a large hallway and put the door in that. I don't know any more specifics - sorry - but I agree, it IS awesome!
And I'm not sure about the bags - it's not my class - but I'll keep an eye out for them and see if I can find out.
Tomorrow is our last day - it's gone so fast and been so fun!

ok Mrs moustache how did you do the (i'm guessing ) black light tunnel thing?
MrsMoustache

I didn't help set it up, but I'll tell you what I observed:
A tunnel of wooden framing was lined with black plastic and the week's memory verses were written the walls with special ink/paint/font. When a black light was turned on, the scriptures lit up.
The only drawback was that it heated up very quickly so teachers had strict instructions to turn on the light just before leading their class through, then turn it off afterwards.
On the last day, there was a mission written out on postcards that the children could go through and pick up. It was the great commission, "Go into all the world and...".
The kids all loved it.

Loved seeing all of the pictures. I am hoping some of these ideas will motivate our team to step it up a bit this year.

How did the music ladies get their hair like that? I'm dying to know.

The Darlas (music team) wore cone-shaped wigs that were pinned on top of their regular hair with bobby pins. :D

Did they attach libby lou type hair or use colored yarn that matched their hair. What sort of cone did they use, party hats?

From what I could see, they just pinned wigs on top of their heads. I don't know where they got them. Sorry! :o

Great Job!!
I am planning on making a tunnel they crawl through to get to the opening with black lights inside. I will "steal" your idea and write the Bible verses in there too. Great job!!

We tried a tunnel one year for an entrance to a room. The kids loved it but it was pretty hard for some of my teachers/helpers to crawl through. Just another thought on the subject.

You could use a room with two entrances. One with the tunnel for the kids and volunteers that can get through and one for everyone else. I know with my size I would rather just walk through a door.
We have several rooms in our Church building that have more than one entrance.

My VBS started last night -- all went well, everyone having fun. We made our Special Agent ID badges in the craft time. We have 2 retired police officers who helped in fingerprinting. The kids enjoyed it and the parents appreciated the ID cards.
