Another creation.
I found some high resolution pictures at the NASA website and used imaging software to print them in poster mode on full sheet labels. I stuck them to foam poster board. I made the mistake of doing the earth first on white foam board. I wish I would have done it like the moon on black foam board.
After I cut it out with a hobby knife, I glued it to a smaller piece of foam board with a tinker toy bracket between them. They sit about 6 inches from the wall. I bought a small LED light at Dollar Tree and stuck it to the small piece of Foam board facing the back of the planet.
I put some foil on the back of the planet to spread the light and keep the light from shining through the foam.
I plan to put it against a black wall in our family life center and think it will look pretty sharp. The kids in my house think it looks pretty cool.
The picture is not great, because I couldn't use flash or you wouldn't be able to see the glow.
