Idea for sharing our VBS'

I know that I am always wanting to share things with our little online vbs "family" and several people have mentioned wishing we could be there to see each others VBS--although we all have each others prayers always--we came up with a little idea and was wondering if any of you would like to participate-(I'm always talking about each of you & saying prayers and thanks to the things you have contributed like Trinity CD insert that was a big hit thanks)
We have made a canvas banner that is 6' long by 2 1/2 wide it is black with brightly painted letters that say SonForce Agency Mission Command Center
it is trimmed with bright pink bias tape and has grommets to hang it by--it can be used for indoor or out--we have spent about 26 hrs making this banner and we hate to see it only used for a week--our thoughts are to share it with each of you--it would become sort of a traveling prayer banner. After we use it we want to sign it with our church name and location, take a group picture and mail it to the next one of you that will be having a VBS closests to us and will be able to get there on time--and the process would repeat after that--it could travel around to whoever wants to participate and return to me sometime at the end of summer and then I can mail it to Allison in Australia to use for next year--what do you all think?
If you are interested in participating let me know by posting your name, location and VBS date--we can then pm the person we would be sending it to for address etc--of course you would be responsible for mailing it to the next person but it is lightweight --there is a flat rate package you can mail anything in for $8.10 but I think it could be mailed for even less then that?

GREAT IDEA- I Love it!

Our VBS is August 6th - 11th. Mundelein Church of the Nazarene, 1515 W. Maple, Mundelein, IL 60060.

We have a big closing on Saturday and all of the kids wear their shirts so it would be the best day to take a picture, but if someone needed it the next week we could send it on Friday.

I love the idea, our VBS is August 27th - 31st/07 the only catch is we are in Canada, it will cost a little more to mail. I would love to take part!

I think decorating the command center w/ pictures of other command centers would be fun. It wouldn't need to be VBS week, just Sunday School kids. hmmmm

What a brilliant idea!! I absolutely love it. Our Sonforce VBS will be sometime during June or July 2008. If there are any other Aussies reading this it would be great if you were willing to participate too.

I'm so excited about this but we need to brainstorn a bit about a whole load of people having VBS the week of July 16--my VBS is the 1st one I think June 11-15 so that is not a problem-- I really don't want to leave anyone out so let me think.....any ideas?

What about sending the banner around to as many groups as we can and then sending it to the others that were missed after VBS and at least they can sign the back and include a photo of their group.

Maybe those that have VBS the same week could keep it a day and Fed ex it the next. This might get a bit expensive though.

We could all use the Gospel Light Calendar to post our VBS dates to get a better picture of when everyone's VBS is.

Our VBS will be August 20-24. I would love to be involved in this! Maybe there can be a couple banners to give everyone a chance? I will keep thinking about this one! Awesome idea though!!

My VBS will be July 30 - August 3, '007. If anyone is having their VBS the same week, I'll gladly have them use the banner since my VBS is a Park VBS and not in a church.

I have been so busy with VBS I have not had time to post --sorry--ok this is what we look like so far on the banner--June VBS' are mine & Stephanie Smith the week of June 11-15--I suppose I could get a picture on Tues (Mon is Crazy) & Fed-ex it that afternoon to Steph--she would have to end it to Kim H (huffmanres) in WV whose VBS is June 18-23--then it goes to Karen in Indiana June 25-29-- then there is a 2 week break--then is the BIG problem week July 15,16--July 20 there are 4 VBS Lisa in Bluefield VA, Michele B in Sunny GA, Maanki in Tulsa AZ and Trinity Jen in Mlifred Ohio-- if the 4 of you can figure something out that would be great--after that the following week July 23-27 is Kelly l in MA then July 30--August3 is Josh in Medina Ohio then August 6-11,12 is Joleen and CammieSue which I think they have worked out so Josh would send to Joleen--then we have a week break and August 20-24 is Angie in CA Angie sends it to Teresa in Canada for the week of August 27-31 Teresa would send it back to me I can make a slide show for everyone of all the pictures but together copies of anything that was in the box that I will more than happily mail a copy of everything to each of you and then I will send everything to Allison in Australia for her to use for next year--I think we might be able to make this work if we can all commit to making sure it leaves each of our post offices on time--I think I'll get an address list together (like in chain mail) to put in the box and each person could mark it off before they mail to the next one--anyway thats what I have so far--like we won't have enough to think about during VBS (LOL)

HI ! I am Maanki (aka Maureen :) ) one of the July 16-20'ers (lol), but I am in Oklahoma, not Arizona as mentioned ! Wow, not sure how to solve this one ,but one idea came to mind and that is if 3 of us could email a picture to the 4th one and # 4 could make a print of the pictures and tack it to the banner ! That way we would ALL be included and still get the banner on it's way for the next week's vbs. I am okay if I don't get to touch the banner, but would love to be included on it ! But, somebody take a real good picture of the banner for us with our names on it so we can have a kodak moment memory !!! Whatchya think ?

okay as soon as the edges of the banner are finished being sewn--I will get a good picture of it I'll post one here(if I can figure out how do that--I am not computer savvy at all) but I will also send one snail mail to each of you if you like--I feel so blessed to be able to share this with each of you
By the way--registration for VBS opens for me this weekend after all of our services--pray that it all goes well please

The banner is being finished today!!! I will take a picture and post it and then it is being mailed out to Peg in KS who has VBS May 29th--then I think she mails it back to me.... Joleen is working on putting together the rest of the mailing list---when I mail it to Peg I will let you all know how much it weighed and how much to mail it from Fl to KS ...

Hello All--we had a bit of a mishap with the banner but all is well now I feel very guilty because I have been unable to use my computer on top of the banner problems I was supposed to have the banner to Peg I think (all my posts were erased)Anyway I do have the banner now ready to go--Peg if your VBS is next week I will overnight the banner to you mine is June 11--other then that I need Joleen to email me again and let me know who gets the banner after me

WOO HOO!!! The banner has arrived in AUSTRALIA!!! Yes folks, the land of kangaroos and koalas. We'll be doing Sonforce this year and the banner will be travelling a little more before making its way back home to Florida. Thanks for allowing us to be part of this special adventure. Our VBS is June 30 - July 4 2008.
