This is how I think we're going to do it (its early, so we can still change a few things if we get any other great ideas)
Day 1: attache cases and take pics for the sonforce badges
Day 2: SonForce Badges & Courage bracelets
Day 3: Creat-A-Bot/Robo dog
Day 4: Kaleidoscope rockets
Day 5: beaded Keychains
As you can see I have taken many of your great ideas. Thanks for sharing! We still don't have anyone to take the craft center, so I'm planning it believing that someone will come soon. Our next meeting is April 29th.

I don't have everything laid out completely yet, but I'm thinking of doing crafts with the younger kids and theme center activities with the older ones. The little ones love the crafts, but I've found the 4th grade and up are harder to do-- not enough in the budget to make a really good craft. I like the theme center ideas though, and some of the stuff could easily replace a take home craft.

I will have everyone make the SonForce Agent Badge on Monday. To spruce it up for the older kids, I'm thinking of getting the "FBI" badge pins from OTC and having the kids glue them onto the front of their agent badge instead of using it as a pin. I do like the Jeremiah's Scroll and Jeremiah's Message for Thursday for all ages, too. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday I will probably use the theme center activities for some and craft for others.

Day 1) Attache Case
Day 2) Decorate Binoculars from Oriental Trading and SFA Promise Viewer
Day 3) Sonforce Agent Badge
Day 4) Morse Code Necklace
Day 5) Daily Mission Log

We will also do our daily mission bead string each day at the beginning of craft time.

I also plan on having coloring pages and a lego block station for those that blow through their crafts.

I ordered the binoculars from OT and they are out of stock. Does anyone know of another source besides Gospel Light. I wanted this to be a craft item tha they could decorate.

I have sent messages to a couple of companies on-line to see if they will sell directly to me, but wanting less than 10,000 may be a problem.

Well, I may have found a source -- but the minimum order is 250....waiting on a price quote to see if they can do better than the listed $1.39 each. If I must go this route, is there anyone out there that would want to purchase some from me at cost?

I am doing the PreK - K age crafts and we are doing ( not in order)
1. Hidden Picture Viewer
2. Jeweled Wrist Band
3. (potato chip can) Carrier
4. Disguise kit ( we are not making the glasses however, the cardstock glasses will not last so we are going to purchase cheap kids glasses somewhere and decorate them)
5. Baby Moses in a Basket

If anyone has done any of these crafts or has any other advice, I would love some suggestions. THis is my 3rd year working with this age group. I have learned to do quite a bit of the craft ahead of time - as the time needed varies quite a bit with each group!

OK -- I finally got a price (from yet another vendor) that I can live with. The blank white binoculars are $1.00 each (including shipping), and I can order as little as 100. Since I will not have to order a large quantity to sell -- I will share the contact information with you if you would like to place your own orders.

I got my order - and over-ordered with anticipation of a lot of kids. I ordered 100, and probably will only need 40 of these.

They cost me $1 each, is there anyone who would like 50 of them? I'll pay shipping costs.

We are doing the crafts basically right from the guidelines but with a few changes.
Day 1 - Baby Moses in the basket
Day 2 - Jeweled wrist band
Day 3 - Disguise Kit - However we are changing this quite a bit
we are having them decorate with a sun on the bag using yellow self adhesive foam sheets pre--cut . They can draw on faces. we are writing on the bag "Son Force Disguise Kit" and on Back " Agent - fill in childs name or let them write it if they can. We ordered glasses from Oriental trading ( black with disguise noses and mustaches) the paper ones shown would not last a day! We are having them make the mustaches out of brown craft foam. Instead of the pre-bought bandanas as suggested; I bought cheap fabric and cut out bandana's using pinking shears ( no hemming needed ) We are also making binoculars out of toilet paper rolls, I have them pre joined and already wrapped in black construction paper, the kids will add the string and decorate them with metallic stars and glow in the dark foam stars.
Day 4 - hidden picture viewer
Day 5 - Carrier Tube WE are having the kids cover the pringles cans with either neon copy paper or tin foil. i haven't decided yet but am leaning toward neon paper as tin foil i can forsee tearing very easily! They will be pre-cut but the kids will tape on and then decorate using space stickers and detective themed stickers. They also will add the string. ( i opted to use the striing rather than the curling decorative ribbon)

AS we do every year , if we have extra time in our class we often will have the kids color a page if they finish early. I printed out several easy pages to color from different web sites. ( a robot, a dog detective, etc), I will copy the match game in the craft section and have them color that for an extra take home game.

If anyone has done any of the above and has any suggestions, please let me know. WE are having VBS on July 23 - 27.
Thanks!
