Hello, has anyone looked in to buying the heat sensitive paper that the kids put their hand on and it leaves the imprint on the wall? I have found a few places on line, but you need to buy large amounts of the stuff. Maybe that's all there is available out there. If anyone has had any luck finding it cheap and in small quantities, could you please pass along your information.
Thank you :D

try looking under Fickle foam I can't find the web address right now--but if you search under that it works--it does the same thing and you can purchase it by the piece for about $2

I had never heard of it. What a great idea. I would love to know what you have found so far. This all I found. http://www.teachersource.com/catalog/page/Color_Light_Sound/Color_Changing_Paper/?id=6dfff4503bdf
It would make a fun postcard to mail or memory verse book marks.

Jen-- I had planned on ordering Fickle Foam, but I was having problems finding a site that wasn't sold out-- thanks so much for the link in your last post- I found this really cool thing on there called a "touch and see square"
that is black, and changes colors with the warmth of your hand-- that will be one of my "security checks", maybe before going thru the transport to the Old Testament! How cool is this theme????? I love it- it's been fun using my imagination- I can only imagine how much fun the kids will have with it!!!
Thanks!

one of the sites I found fickle foam at is www.explore4fun.com/ficklefoam Fickle foam comes in 4x4 squares for about $3 there are other wedsites if you google fickle foam but all of them are 4x4 squares it is used for science classes--it looks like a piece of foam until you touch it--one square should work for little hands but I am putting 2 pieces together for the transport entrance By the way the art teacher at school told me that the heat sensitive paper takes a bit to heat and cool and might not work well for entrance into a room where several children will want to see its effects at one time.

I bought the Fickle Foam from Explore 4 Fun and it came in red, blue & black. The black turned a blue/green color (which is easy to see) and the red a magenta (hard to see), the blue got a bit lighter (not much difference). However, these will not work at all for the kids to place there hands on as they enter (it doesn't change back fast enough). I have returned them and Explore is easy to work with on returns. Instead, my techie husband is building a small unit that the kids will push a button and a green light turns on and also a prerecorded message that I will put on each day will be heard each time the button is pushed. We are using this at the entrance by our sign in table. We will have the refrigerator box with rope lighting for them to pass through, but only after they get the "green light" to enter. Our messages will say "Welcome Level 1 Agent", and change to Level 2,3,4 & 5 each night after.
Good luck to all you!

I bought the Touch-It Glossy Card Stock ($16.95/pkg. of 50 sheets) paper and plan to use it for memory verse bookmarks. It is REALLY COOL!

Thanks for the green light and message idea! I can't wait to have my husband make it. I had the same problem with fickle foam, but my kids and I think its so cool we're going to keep it and find another use for it.

I found a small quantity of heat sensitive paper on ebay, but it didn't work quickly enough, so I got the Fickle Foam from explore4fun. Since the squares were so small, I put three of them together and the kids had to put their thumb on one of the three squares for "clearance". That sped up the process and it was really cool to watch all of the different colors. They loved it and it worked really well for us.

I didn't think of using just one finger. That's a great idea, thankyou. I will be using my fickle foam for clearance with a thumbprint instead of a handprint.
