That was funny, Jen. Thanks for sharing. I will be watching for more ideas using our theme.

I didn't see a "games" topic -- but I thought it might be fun to have a scavenger hunt...."find the magnifying glass" or something. Give a different clue each night. With the item hidden well, but not too well....and give the ones who locate the item a gift certificate for an ice cream or a movie pass..

That was funny! I have one to add: When you find out you are (unexpectedly) pregnant and learn that the due date is in April, your first thought is, "Oh good, I can still do Vacation Bible School!"

Funny Sherri!

I will add your vacation has to fit between VBS (July 16) and school starting.

Sherri - That was exactly me two years ago! My son was born April 8th and our VBS was the first week of Aug. I don't think I got to hold him at 4 months except to feed or change him. He was either attached to me in his carrier or someone else had him. I remember opening night during the skit I was hidding in a dark nursery crying my eyes out while he nursed. CRAZY HORMONES!

Congratulations!!!! IT's VERY REWARDING!

Thanks! My due date was April 8th. I'm still waiting! And our VBS is June 4-8, so it's coming fast. My six year old and two year old both came early, so this is a new experience for me - I really thought I would have had him by now! I'm having to rearrange my thinking a little bit. But, I am blessed that I have a great team, and a local VBS friend who is going to share decorations with me, and - for the first time ever - I am a stay at home mom! No more leaving VBS and going to work. Besides, each year is different with different challenges, and many rewards.

Oh, I thought of another VBS nut one - if you can remember the order of VBS themes by the ages of your children, or vice versa, you might be a VBS nut!

So Sherri ???? How are things with you????

If I'm fanatical about anything other than VBS it's BABIES!!!! I've been thinking about you and praying for you. I hope everything is going well for you.

I've been thinking about and praying for Sherri as well--I guess since we haven't heard from you in a few days that must mean the baby has arrived--let us know all about the beautiful new miracle that has been added to the VBS family!!!

OK, I know I'm a VBS nut because I just realised that I am on the internet at the same time as Joleen, Josh and TrinityJen. We're on opposite sides of the world and we're all thinking about VBS at the same time. How exciting!!!

Thank you all so much! Many prayers were answered, as you'll see when you read the circumstances of his delivery. I was scheduled to be induced at 6 a.m. on Tuesday morning, April 17. I was at 41 weeks and two days. My husband and I left our two older boys at my mom's and set the alarm for 4 a.m. About 3:15 I woke up in some pain. However, I had done this before and it had stopped. This time it didn't stop, and I woke my husband up at about 3:40 and said we had better get going. We got in the car and when I timed my contractions by the car clock at 4:07, they were two minutes apart. We live about 40 miles from the hospital. From then on, it was a whirlwind of a ride. I soon called my sister, who had sat up in bed at 3 a.m. with the overwhelming desire to pray for me, and she talked and prayed me through the contractions while my husband drove through red lights with the flashers on. She also called 911 and had them on standby, because I really thought I wasn't going to make it. (Other people were praying during this time as well, including my friend Cyndi, who I met through this forum! :-)
I called the labor and delivery nurses at the hospital and told them what was going on; at this point we were about five minutes away and my contractions were less than one minute apart. And I knew what was about to happen! They said they would meet us at the door. We pulled under the pavilion, they jumped in the car with me, and a couple of minutes later, at 4:46 a.m., Samuel Tate made his appearance, all 11 pounds and 22 3/4 inches of him!
In all of my wildest dreams, I never thought I would have a baby in a car, much less an 11 pound baby, although in retrospect - and taking away the panic part of it - it was my easiest delivery of all three. He is a tremendous blessing to us. God is good!
