I am a new leader and am confused on 2 things (for now!). The first is, what do they mean by "free" veggies? Do you count them or not? I understand that you don't have to count the foods on the free list, but didn't know about the free veggies list. Also, I'm confused on cottage cheese - is it a dairy or meat or both?

on the free veggies, have you read the previous thread on free veggies? check that out and see if it answers your questions...
cottage cheese can be counted as EITHER a milk or a meat...
1/4 cup = 1 meat OR 1/2 cup = 1 milk

I did see that posting. I guess my main question is do they record the free veggies on their CR under vegetables or not at all? Thanks for getting back with me. I've really been studying this and working at trying to "get it!" I get most of it, but there are still a few gray areas! Thank goodness for the message board. It's helped a lot already just from reading all the posts!

yes, have them record their free vegies. They still count towards their nutrional intake.
nice work...keep it up!
