Hi everyone,

I bought a new product called "PB 2" Powdered Peanut Butter. You add water to make peanut butter and I think I can use it in recipes that call for peanut butter.

I am very unsure of how to count it.

Any way here is the info:

*Contains: Peanuts, Sugar and Salt

Serving size is 2 tablespoons
Servings per Container 16

Amount per Serving

*Calories 54 Calories from Fat 25

% Daily Value

*Total Fat 2.8 g 4%

Saturated fat .55g 3%
Trans Fat 0g
Cholesterol 0mg 0%
Sodium 94mg 6%

*Total Carbohydrate 3.7g 3%

Dietary Fiber .3g
Sugars 1 g

*Protein 4.3g

That is the whole label. I have been having trouble figuring if it is a starch or protein exchange. I don't think it would be a fat exchange, do you?

Anyone out there that can help me, it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks a bunch!!

In Christ,
Sara

Sara,
Since the first item in the list of ingredients is peanuts, we have to consider that most nuts count as fats. The 2.8 g. of fat would account for about half of a regular fat. Half of the 45 fat calories would be about 23 calories. 54-23= 31 calories left. Then we'd have to look at the proteins. The 4.3 grams of protein is a little more than half of what 1 meat would provide. Looking at 1 lean meat=55 calories...half would be about 27 calories. 31-27 would leave us only 4 calories unaccounted for. I'd probably count 2 tablespoons of this powder as 1/2 meat and 1/2 fat. However, I'm eager to see how someone else out there would figure it.

Thank you so much for your reply Pat. Your answer sounds about what I was thinking. I knew it was half of something but I wasn't sure.

I'll keep trying to figure out exchanges on my own but I really appreciate being able to coming here and see what other people think.

This peanut butter is really pretty good. I like it with apples. If anyone is interested in getting some I can post the website. You can only get it online.

Thanks again!

Blessings on everyones day!
