I found these craft ideas and thought I would pass them along.
These two came from Guildcraftinc.com
Courage Bracelets
http://www.guildcraftinc.com/courage-bracelets-401-023.aspx

Morse Code Necklaces
http://www.guildcraftinc.com/morse-code-necklaces-403-647.aspx

They are both pretty inexpensive per project.
I also found these on Design your own compass bracelets at
Oriental Trading. They are very similar to the craft in the book.

Hope this helps someone.

You could make the Courage Bracelets without a kit. Buy some string, letter beads, and neon beads and/or glow-in-the-dark beads to go with the theme.
God Bless,

I think the morse code initial necklaces would be pretty cool using glow in the dark or Neon (Black Light) beads. I think I will research that somemore.

Great Crafts Stephanie!

The courage braclets would need to be ordered as a kit, at least for me. We are planning on 100 kids and that is alot of sorting for 100 C-O-U-R-A-G-E.

I love the courage braclets. Last year we had a few complaints that some of the crafts were to difficult, but this should be simple enough. Thanks!:)

I like this idea.
We don't have a problem with projects being too difficult, we have a problem with the older ones being done before you even give them directions.
The glow in the dark beads are one they will like, but why not go with "trust", "train", "unite", "lead" and "follow" as well? Let them choose. I have found that the more choices the kids have, the happier they are with their crafts because they have been allowed to show their creativity.

we have to stay away from beads so we are doing either a foam bracelet or a snap on bracelet that they will glue (love those glue dots) compass' too.

For those that want to do the Morse code initial necklace with out having to buy the kit or be limited to two initials, plus save even more money, I have a solution.

www.craftkitsandsupplies.com (http://www.craftkitsandsupplies.com) has 6x19mm Spaghetti beads (300 for $4.75) in many different colors. (I was unable to find glow in the dark ones anywhere) You can buy the round beads at Walmart, Hobby Lobby or a score of other craft resources.

I tried various stringing materials but found that the stretchy cord works best. It is very inexpensive, you can make the necklace just smaller than the head and it will stretch over, and you don't need any additional hardware. You just tie the ends together. In the one I made there was plenty of stretch to get over my huge melon.

I found glow in the dark spaghetti beads online at http://genbead.com, but haven't placed an order yet.. They have a 500 count multicolor pack for under $12.00.

We were going to order the Design your own compass bracelets at
Oriental Trading, but can't find them there anymore. Has anyone found compass bracelets on a different website?
