Prayer Needed

I would like to request prayer for VBS in Australia. I had not heard anything from the company that imports Gospel Light into Australia regarding my order for VBS material. I called them this morning and they told me the order (Super starter pack) is currently in Hong Kong and won't be here until March at the earliest. Our VBS is planned for the first week in July. The company usually has the packs in stock for us in January to buy over the counter without ordering. This year, however, they decided they wouldn't sell any unless they were ordered in advance. It's hard enough as we already work 12months behind USA (this year we'll be doing Sontreasure Island) and we can't order extras such as stickers, puppets, etc. We just get whatever materials are left over. This is making things more difficult. This affects all the churches in Australia that use Gospel Light VBS.

I hope this doesn't sound too angry, I'm just very concerned at the way things are going.

By the way, this is not the fault of Gospel Light. It is the company from Australia that imports their materials. However, if anyone from Gospel Light can do anything to make these people change their system for next year, I'd be extremely grateful!!!

Sorry to hear about the delays in getting materials.:( I checked last night and I still have most of my books from the super starter pack last year that I would be happy to send to you. They include the directors guide, reproduceable resources guide, bible story center guide, craft guide, etc. I also have the clip art CD, the preview DVD, and some CD's of the songs we reproduced (the music director keeps the CD master). Just email me if you want them. We'll be keeping you in our prayers in the meantime.

I have newsletters made for each day last year that I can e-mail you, if you wish. I tried to attach them to this note but it would not let me. If you would like a copy send me a private note with your e-mail and I'll forward them and anything else I can help with, so you can get a head start before your material arrives.

Hi everyone,

At last my Super Starter Kit has arrived. Yippee!!! Now at last I can get organised. We are having a meeting to assign tasks on Sunday 18th March and everyone's getting excited. Thank you to all the people who have been praying for us. Thanks also must go to the people at Gospel Light who have been EXTREMELY helpful and understanding. Heather and Patsy - you are just wonderful.

Well, gotta go now and get organised for Sontreasure Island in Australia.

Thanks, that's really kind of you. Unfortunately the freight between USA and AUS makes things extremely expensive to send. Never mind, I appreciate you thinking of us.

We're going well with decorations. I've been around all the second hand stores and found coconut maracas and frangipani curtains. Also, at Easter we had a holiday at the beach and found some appropriate soft toys which we can put around the place - this is the first time I have ever found a soft toy pelican!

I am glad you are getting started Alison! I know you have allot of ideas from the STI board already! Let me know if you are missing any files, I keep EVERYTHING! :eek:

And I am sure you are checking for eBay sellers in Australia.

You should help revive the STI board. I know there are churches using it this year, but not many posters.
