Trying to start getting the word out and collect supplies we may need also to help keep cost down. Came up with this teaser to put in our bulletin and newsletter.

Would appreciate any thoughts...

Great idea TNTricia! I'm having a hard time building enthusiasm in my church. How can they resist this?

Last year I started posting things I needed (like TP rolls - got WAY too many) but also things I needed cut out or assembled. I found people who don't normally help w/ VBS, but would help if it was something they could take home. I had SO many palm leaves just because people kept asking to cut them out. I started with things I needed them started listing things that would just be fun to have made or cut. (like contact paper flip flops all over the hallways).

This year I am going to ask for anyone who wants to make a card board robot. If I only have the 2 I plan to make I will be happy, but if I have 10 or 20! WOW!

I really like your wroding Patty - that is going in my notes.

Glad you like it!

I've found that people like to be included without a lot of work. We're requesting volunteers now. Then we'll let that sit and see what we get and let them have first choice then I'll come up with fun names of ways to help. Decorating is the toughy since the room we have it in has a brick wall on one of the best spots...argh.

I hadn't thought to have them make decorations. That's a great idea!

Speaking of TP rolls, one of the girls had the YMCA save em and she's got 2 huge garbage bags full. ROFL
