Hi,
I'm at my goal weight and have been for awhile. I'm still in a group and weighing in, etc. My question is, should I stay in my First Place group or not? I do view First Place as a new way of life (not just a quick fix). What do other people do after they have met their goal and have maintained for awhile? Just curious and trying to follow God's leading in all areas of my life.
Thanks!

Sara,
I have friends who have reached their goal weight and maintained it for several years. They have chosen still to come to First Place meetings and weigh in so that they don't go beyond three to five pounds over or under their goal weight. They enjoy the Bible study and the fellowship and have played a major role as a mentor to help newbies to First Place. I don't think there's any set rule for what to do....just do what the Lord leads you to do.....but know that staying actively involved in First Place is definitely one of your options.

I was in First Place 8 years ago and reached my goal weight. Our group disbanded, and without the support and accountability of a First Place group, I gained the weigh back. 4 1/2 years ago, I joined First Place online (Outlook) and reached goal weight again. This time, I've kept the weight off because I stayed in Outlook, until I began leading a face-to-face group at my church. Maybe you or others can continue keeping the commitments and keep the weight off without being part of a group, but I couldn't. So my recommendation to anyone who asks is stay in your group, keep following *all* 9 commitments, and let God be glorified in your First Place testimony!
Blessings!
